The Perfect Sunday

What a beautiful day it has been here today. The sun is shining and the temperature is perfect, I don't know how you could not spend it outside. We decided with the weather being so perfect it was a great time to get our pumpkins carved and ready for Halloween. I love Sundays like this where we spend quality time as a family, absolutely the perfect kind of day in my mind.

Jackson was ready to carve pumpkins, he came crawling right out the door

The pumpkins all ready to be decorated for Halloween

We set up the play yard outside for Jackson

Trigger was excited Jackson had come out to play

I painted Jackson's pumpkin for him

Jackson liked playing with Dad's big pumpkin

Of course Trigger had to get a pumpkin painted too!

Me getting all the insides out

Leaving the photo shoot, so hard to get pictures of this boy these days

Such a cutie!

Today I am going to leave you with two of my favorite pictures from today. I think these two photos reflect the joy that Adam and I have from having Jackson in our lives. I love these candid photos, neither of us knew the other was taking the picture. Blessed, that is the one word I have to describe our lives, very very blessed that God chose us to be Jack's parents.

No Limits Run - Texas Motor Speedway

Saturday morning Jackson and I finally ran our 5K. A cold front hit the day before and brought some very chilly temperatures just in time for the race. We headed to Texas Motor Speedway at 6:30 to prepare for our 7:40 start time. We met up with the few Stroller Stride ladies that hadn't dropped out and prepared for our race.

Janie and Leblanc. Jackson & I and Heather and Ty

Jackson all bundled up and ready for the run

Getting lined up for the race, they were over 20 minutes late with the start time

Heather Janie, and I kept that same pace throughout the race and stayed together. It was fun having the other ladies there to motivate me through the run.

Coming up on the half way point

We ran the entire 3.1 miles, a big accomplishment for all of us and even while overcoming some obstacles. Jackson has never once complained while on our runs but today he decided was a good day to start. With about 10 minutes left in the race he started crying and it only got worse and worse. The best thing I could do was finish there was no way out, talk about motivation to pick up the pace. Janie and Heather were doing the best they could to help, giving Jackson cheerios and trying to make him happy.

Coming in for the finish

Happy to be finished

Jackson was fine once we got him out of the stroller and gave him some snacks, I think with the delayed start he was ready to get out. I finished the 5K in 40:14, not my best time but I am happy I finished and ran the whole way. When I first started training 2 months ago running 3.1 miles seemed like a far fetched goal but I did it and I feel really proud of myself. Heather and I are already talking about signing up for another one soon!

Mr. On The Move - 9 Months

I said last month I couldn't believe what a big boy he had become but this month it has become even more true. He pulls up on anything and everything he can find and his current favorite activity is standing. We find him in his crib every morning standing and smiling at us. We love watching him try to sit back down, he slowly squats back down to the ground. He is now crawling on all fours most of the time. He says Mama and Dada and he has a special word every time Trigger runs in the room. He can wave and clap. He is becoming more and more independent and loves sitting and playing with his toys. He went to the doctor yesterday for his 9 month check up and his is weighing 19.4 pounds and 28.5 inches long and everything is perfect. Jackson is a joy to be around and warms our hearts everyday with his smiles and laughter. We love him a ton and can't wait to see what this next month has in store. Here are his likes and dislikes for the month...

Getting this boy to sit still and smile for the camera has become pretty impossible, he is way to busy for that

He is happy to stand and take pictures

He has such pretty blue eyes, I love them!

Here are some more picture of what our little 9 month old has been up too...

Jackson really enjoyed riding in the wagon at the pumpkin patch

Jackson went to his first pumpkin patch, it was fun but too hot for fall!

Such a cutie!

He liked drumming on this big pumpkin

pondering life while sitting on a pumpkin

My sweet little boy

They filled up my new piggy bank but I tried to get the money out

I wanted to take a bath but they told me it wasn't bath night

I went on a wagon ride around the neighborhood

It's hard to believe I have completed another monthly post and we only have 3 months until our little man turns 1! We sure do love Jackson and all the fun he has brought into our lives. This weekend Jackson and I finally run our 5K! Today I will leave you with a picture of Jackson tearing all the paper up at the doctor's office.
