Sensory Play Date

I love having Mom friends it makes life as a Mom so much more fun! Today Jackson & I were invited over to Chelsea & Logan's house for a Sensory Play Date. She asked that each of us make a sensory activity to share, Jackson and I made water bottles filled with different things.

Here are some of the water bottles I made to take to the play date

Jackson testing them out

This morning at 9:30 we headed to the play date and we had a great time! Chelsea just bought her house and they are waiting on their living room furniture to arrive so she had a nice big empty living room, perfect for the kids to spread out and play without the worry of breaking or bumping into anything.

Jackson & Logan rolling around playing with all the fun stuff

I love getting to hang out with these girls and we all have boys really close in age

All the different things the Moms brought

The best part about play dates like these, besides getting to hang out with my friends, is all the wonderful ideas I got for activities to do with Jackson, I would have never thought of some of this stuff! Stacy brought vanilla pudding with a little bit of food coloring for the kids to do finger painting, it was a mess but they sure had fun and after we were done we rinsed them all off with the water hose.

Jackson & Peyton discovering the fun of finger painting

Jackson had it everywhere!!

He loved it!

What a fun day, I can't say enough how happy I am that I have found Stroller Strides and this group of women, I love them and they fill my days with lots of fun! I also love watching Jackson start to interact with the other boys his age, he is really starting to play with them! I also recently got to go to Mom's Night Out with all these ladies which is always a blast!

The whole group at Mom's Night Out

On top of the amazing friendships I have formed with these women, they also push me to do things I never thought I was capable of doing and make me a better, stronger and healthier Mom! For example just recently they have convinced me to do something I NEVER thought I would EVER do...

I have signed up to do a 5K at the end of October. The whole group is going to run it together, including the kids because they allow strollers. Jack and I have been working hard and we are hoping by the time of the race we will be able to run the full 3.1 miles!!

I don't feel like Jackson is working quite as hard as me to prepare for the 5K ;)

We've been busy busy around these parts lately, little Miss Abigail Hueske is getting married NEXT WEEKEND!!!! I'm so excited to be apart of their special day, it may not be by blood but she is my sister for sure, I love that girl!!

Abigail ready for her Bachelorette Party!

I got us some bling for her last night out as a single lady!

The whole family is going to be in the wedding next weekend and I can't wait for the festivities to begin next Friday!! As for now I will leave you with a couple more pictures of Jack...

Sun, Sand & Surf - Galveston Vacation

Between Adam, Blake Emily & I finding a time when we could all go on vacation together is pretty tough so when we found a week in August we could all get away we jumped at the chance. We all had some pretty rough weeks so a vacation was just what the doctor ordered for all of us! Although vacationing with a baby is a tad more difficult and requires much more supplies we made it work! I'm glad Blake & Emily could join us we always enjoy going places with them and it was nice to have the extra hands to help with Jack.

Headed to Galveston, Charlie Monkey kept Jack entertained!

We got to Galveston late Friday night, it was after 10:00 but the boys still stayed up till 3:00 in the morning fishing. We always stay up late fishing when we go to Galveston and then the next morning we sleep in to make up for it but that is no longer the case, Jackson woke us up nice and early at 6:45 ready to start the day, Mom & Dad weren't quite so ready but since we were all up we headed over to the beach to take a look..

Jackson & Dad at the beach the first morning

Later that morning Adam & Blake decided to head out and do some fishing in the boat while the girls and Jack went in town to get groceries and supplies.

Jackson wanted to get a picture on the boat with the boys

They caught a shark!!!

Meanwhile Jackson was having fun with the girls at the grocery store

That night Jackson enjoyed an avocado for dinner

After dinner was done and Jackson was put to bed we settled in for a night of fishing.

I caught a Trout

Emily caught an Eel, you can tell she really wanted to hold it!

The next day while Jackson was down for his nap I decided it was time for me to finally try out the kayak. I never tried it out before because when Adam got it I was pretty pregnant and didn't feel like that was the best time to try it out. So while Aunt Emily and Uncle Blake stayed with the sleeping boy Adam & I headed out to the bay in the kayaks...

I had a lot of fun it was very peaceful being out on the water like that and fun hanging out with my husband in the kayaks.

Adam was trying out Blake's kayak for the first time

headed out to the bay

we had fun kayaking together it was a nice date!

After our kayaking date was over we all got ready for a trip to the beach. Jackson has been to the beach once before but this was the first time we actually put his feet in the water...

He is not really sure why we are doing this to him

Family at the beach!

Adam showing Jack the beach

and of course the boys had to try doing some kayak fishing at the beach

We had a good time hanging out at the beach and Jackson did really well but eventually he was hot, tired and sandy and it was time to head home and shower and nap. Later that night after Jackson was in bed it was time for more fishing, if you can't tell yet that's always how we spend our nights in Galveston.

I caught this blue crab but there was no way I was holding it so that is Adam holding it in the picture

Adam caught this Trout

Blake caught this ribbon fish

It had really creepy teeth I didn't like this fish

We had a fun night of fishing and of course the boys stayed up way too late. The next day we headed to The Strand and ate lunch at the Gumbo Bar and walked around.

Jack hanging out at The Strand

The last day of our vacation Emily and I got our nails done while the boys watched Jack. I don't have any pictures from them watching Jack but it sounds like they had some fun adventures. We had a really great time and I am glad we got to go! Here are some pictures from the rest of our vacation...

Blake caught a big catfish on their last trip out on the boat

Adam & Jackson enjoyed swinging on the swing

Jackson playing with the hammer Uncle Blake got for him

Jackson liked crawling all over Uncle Blake

Loved waking up to this view every morning

Jackson had fun taking a bath in the sink

We had a great time and did a lot of stuff but also spent some good time relaxing. We can't wait to go back again for another vacation, I am already ready!

I'm excited today because we are only one week away from the beginning of Aggie Football Season!!! I love Aggie Football it's my favorite time of year, as fall starts to begin and all the fun holidays start and it will be even more fun with Jackson around this year. I will leave you with a picture of our future little Aggie Class of 2034!!!

I am starting early trying to get him to be an Aggie one day!!
