Let it Snow

Adam cooking the brisket in the snow on his new smoker

Blake felt like he needed an umbrella to be in the snow

Our little snowman we made from the snow we got over Christmas

The Brisket done it was so good!

Adam getting all the pine needles out of our house after we took the tree out

It snowed all day yesterday afternoon and we were so excited! It didn't stick to anything for a while but then later it started to stick to the grass. It was only about 1/2-1 inch of snow but we still really enjoyed it! Adam was outside cooking a brisket during the snow on his new smoker my mom and dad gave him. It was a really good brisket so thanks mom and dad for such a wonderful present!!

The saddest part of the day was taking down the tree. It's probably one of my least favorite times of the year because I love our Christmas tree so much! Having a real tree is so nice until you take it down and realize there are pine needles everywhere and you have to find a way to get them all out of your house. The Christmas tree is down but the rest of the Christmas decorations are still up because I'm just not ready to accept that Christmas is over because I love this time of year so much!

Mike and Michelle are already here and Blake and Lindsey are on their way and we are going to watch a game at BJ's. Tomorrow we will be headed out to Bowie to ring in the New Years. I can't believe 2009 is coming to an end it certainly doesn't seem like a whole year has passed.  It was a wonderful year for Adam and I, we welcomed two new nephews, witnessed two of our friends get married in Michigan, Celebrated our first anniversary of being married, watched Adam's cousin Josh get married, Emily and Blake got engaged, Nate and Pamela got engaged and we get to watch both of them get married next year and so many more memories were made. Thanks to everyone who made 2009 so great for Adam and I and here is to hoping 2010 is even better and even more wonderful memories are made!! Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful New Years Eve!!!! We love you all and thank you for making our life so wonderful!

SNOW

Snow in our backyard

Adam and I were so sad when we found out Fort Worth was going to have a white Christmas and we weren't going to be there to enjoy all the snow! We thought for sure that the snow had come and gone and we would never get to see it but to our surprise when we came home yesterday there was still some left in our front and backyard. Even more good news the forecast for tomorrow is even more snow and hopefully that will happen and we will really be able to enjoy playing in the snow!!

Even though we did not have a white Christmas it was still a very wonderful Christmas. We got to enjoy lots of time with both of our families. Adam & I have decided that we are very spoiled!! Between both our families Adam and I got everything we could have possibly wanted and more!! We both feel so blessed that we have such wonderful families and that they love and care for us so much!! We spent Christmas morning with Adam's family and ate Christmas lunch with them and then we headed to my family and spent Christmas afternoon with them and had Christmas dinner. It was a wonderful Christmas and I'm glad we got to spend it with all the people we love so much.

Now we are back home and Adam has the week off so we are trying to find stuff we need to get done around the house. As usually Adam is running around looking for some project to do because he can't handle just sitting still (as I'm sitting here writing this Adam is heading up into the attic with a flashlight on his head my mom gave him and I have no idea what he is planning to do up there). I'm just enjoying having my wonderful husband all to myself for a week!!! Today we will watch the Aggie football game and hopefully they will BTHO Georgia.

I don't know what is wrong with me but I have no pictures to show for our Christmas trip home, I guess we were too busy enjoying being with our families to take pictures. Hopefully tomorrow I will have pictures to put up of Adam & I playing in the snow and maybe next years Christmas card will have a real snowman!!

Mike & Michelle will be coming to visit us for New Years Eve and I'm very excited to see them! Last year we took a ski trip to New Mexico with them but this year we couldn't do that so they are coming to see us. Mike, Michelle, Blake, Emily, Adam & I will all be headed out to Bowie to celebrate New Years Eve. Hopefully Blake (Lars), Mike McLeod, and Katie will also join us but we are not sure yet. I'm sure we will have lots have fun and last time I heard there is a lot more snow still in Bowie and hopefully with snow coming tomorrow maybe we will have a white New Years!!

I hope everyone had as wonderful of a Christmas as Adam & I did! I even made the German Chocolate Cake at my house, which in the Cox family it is tradition to make and then on Christmas morning we sing happy birthday to Jesus. Have a great week!!

Merry Christmas!!

Just in case you didn't receive our Christmas card this year I wanted to put it up for everyone to enjoy. I know many of you thought we were trying to pretend we were in snow in the picture with the snowman but really we were just being silly because last years Christmas card had a real snowman.

Adam & I have already had our Christmas on Sunday and opened our presents together. He got me a vest, pajamas, slippers, and a comfy fleece jacket and I love all of the wonderful presents he gave me. I got him slippers, a robe, A&M crocs, and some clothes and I think he loved all the gifts that I gave him. We had a very wonderful Christmas together!

Last weekend Adam's parents came to see us and we had a very good visit with them. We got a chance to go see Emily sing and it was very beautiful. Emily and Blake came over last night and I cooked stew and we had our Christmas with them and tonight we are going to the BK happy hour.

Tomorrow we are headed home to see our families. I can't wait to see everyone and celebrate Christmas with our families. It will be a very busy Christmas but I very wonderful Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE and safe traveling!!

Fireplace Decorations

Sorry it took me so long to get the decoration pictures up but here they are. We also have lights Adam put up outside but I haven't gotten a picture of that yet. We got our tree last week and when we picked it out Adam said that's a little bigger than last year and I thought no it's about the same size and when we got it home I realized yes that tree is a little bit bigger than last years. Luckily we have that big front room to put the tree in and it fits in our house fine and looks beautiful. We are hanging all the Christmas cards that we receive around the fireplace but so far it's just us and the Garrett's but hopefully we will get more soon. I really love all our Christmas decorations!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week and weekend!!

Thanks Nanny & Pop!!

The New Freezer with Adam

Adam & I got a very wonderful early Christmas present from Nanny and Pop today. They gave us the freezer in the picture above. Pop thought we might need it a little early because hopefully Adam will shoot a deer soon and we can fill with meat. Also it will be nice because every time I come home from grocery shopping it is very difficult for me to figure out a way to fit it all in our freezer. Thank you for the very wonderful present Adam & I are very very happy!!! We love you both very much!!!

I will have pictures of our house decorated for Christmas tomorrow!! Also everyone be on the look out for a special delivery in their mail box because our Christmas cards have been sent out!

Thanksgiving

Cox Family Thanksgiving

 Hueske Family Thanksgiving

 Galveston

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!! We got to see all of our families and make a trip to Adam's grandparents beach house in Galveston.

We started off our trip in College Station with the Cox family to watch baby Brenden get baptized on Wednesday night and celebrate my Dad's Birthday. Adam & I even got a chance to baby sit our little nephew Brenden while Ben & Allison went out with some friends. He is such a sweet little guy!! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the Cox Family that morning and I'm so glad we got to spend all the time with my family.

Thanksgiving afternoon we headed to Brenham to have the Hueske Thanksgiving. It's a Hueske tradition that all the guys go out after eating and shoot skeet and that's where the pictures above are from. Most of us girls sit on the truck tailgate and watch but some girls do choose to participate but not me. After skeet shooting we all head back to the fire house for a second round of eating Thanksgiving dinner. Then the guys stayed back and played poker while Emily, Abi, and I went back to Adam's parents house to watch the Aggie game. Although the Aggies did not win they did put up a good fight and gave the Longhorns a scare so I'm still proud of them!

Friday afternoon we headed to Galveston for some fishing with Blake and Emily. We don't get many chances to go to the Galveston beach house anymore because it's so far away from Fort Worth so we were excited to go. It was pretty good fishing we caught red fish, sheep's head, flounder, trout, eel, yellow tail, and some other kinds I can't remember. We kept a flounder and some trout and are going to have a fish fry sometime soon. It was a really great trip and it's so relaxing sitting out there and fishing.

On our way back home on Sunday we stopped by Tomball to see Granny Robinson since she couldn't make it to Thanksgiving this year. We had a very good visit with her and I'm so glad we got a chance to see her. It was a very very very long trip home and we didn't get back till about 9:00 Sunday night. It was a very wonderful Thanksgiving and I'm so thankful that Adam & I have such wonderful families!

Next weekend Adam & I are going to get our tree and I'm so excited!! I already have a few presents wrapped and ready to go under the tree. Christmas is my favorite time of year I love decorating the house and the tree and I'm very thankful that God sent his son to save us all!! I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

Christmas Stockings

New Christmas Stockings

Adam & Josh ready to go hunting

Adam & Josh ready to go hunting

I ordered Adam & I new stockings with our names on them. I was really excited because they turned out to be so cute that I just had to share with everyone.

The pictures of Adam and Josh are from the last weekend we went to Bowie. Adam got to do some deer hunting with Josh and Blake and I got to spend some time with Lindsey. We don't get to see cousin Josh and Lindsey too often so it was nice to get to spend a long weekend with them! The boys didn't get to shoot a deer but they did see quite a few just none that they could shoot. It was a fun weekend and I'm sure we will be back in Bowie soon so Adam can go deer hunting again.

Adam & I are getting ready to go home for Thanksgiving and there is a lot to do. I've been baking all day for the Cox and Hueske Thanksgivings. Also while we are home we will get to see our new nephew Brenden be baptized and Ben and Allison have asked us to be sponsors. We are always planning on making a trip to the Galveston beach house with Blake and Emily. It should be a great Thanksgiving and also a very busy Thanksgiving. Lets all hope that we can also watch the Aggies BTHO of Texas!!

Today is my Daddy's Birthday so I want to wish him a very very Happy Birthday. I can't wait to get home and celebrate with him!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING AND SAFE TRAVELING!!!

Adam's Birthday

Adam's Birthday

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Adam's 25th birthday!! I let him open one gift on Friday so we could enjoy it all weekend, it was kind of a selfish gift because I really wanted it too! I got him Wii Sports Resort and we enjoyed playing it together all weekend long.

On Saturday we watched a very sad showing of Aggie football. We played Colorado and I really thought we could win this one but the curse of Aggie football on TV once again was true and we lost the game 35-34 so that made us a little bit sad. Adam thought it was funny to video me while watching the game because I can get a little bit crazy, I didn't find this so funny and I don't plan on anyone being able to see this video EVER!! Hopefully the Aggies can pull out one more win this season so we can be bowl eligible. After the game we headed to the McLeod's house for a BBQ.

On Sunday Adam and I woke up and we made breakfast tacos together for his birthday breakfast. I made Adam a cookie cake because when I asked him what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday he said all he wanted was cookies. We opened all his cards and his other birthday gifts from me, I got him a surefire flashlight which he played with for hours yesterday and also a 90 minute massage gift card, which he said I get to go with him and get a massage too!! We went to the movies and watched Couples Retreat which was a really funny movie. Then we headed to dinner at Mi Cocina (not the same one as in College Station) in downtown where Adam could eat more tacos. Overall I think Adam had a really great birthday and I was glad I could celebrate the special day with him!!

Next weekend I'm sure we will be heading out to Bowie so Adam can go deer hunting. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

Silly Boys

Adam and Blake

We went out to Bowie this weekend and it was a lot of fun!! Emily and I have such silly boys and the picture above shows them hanging out on the top bunk of the bunk beds. Adam and Blake spent most of the weekend making rockets and setting them off. It was very entertaining but we did have a couple of close calls of the rockets almost hitting us. We have some video Adam took on his phone and maybe he will let me post the video. We also went to the lake out at Bowie and they boys did some fishing and Emily and I relaxed on the dock enjoying the very beautiful day. We will probably be heading back out to Bowie the weekend of November 14 so that Adam can go deer hunting and hopefully our cousin Josh will be out there that weekend as well.

My Best Friend Pamela

I put this picture up of my best friend Pam because I am happy to announce that she recently go engaged. Nate and her will be getting married June 5, 2010. She called me last night to ask me to be her maid of honor (or I guess since I'm married matron of honor) and I'm so excited to be apart of her big day and help her with all the preparations. She was my maid of honor and she did such a wonderful job and I know I couldn't of gotten everything done without her!!

This weekend is Adam's 25th birthday and I'm so excited to celebrate with him!! I have a few plans for Adam on Sunday but nothing big because he won't let me make a big fuss about his birthday. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Pumpkin Carving

Pumpkin Carving

Cooked Pumpkins

Finished Pumpkin Puree

Adam & I went got our pumpkins last Sunday and carved our pumpkins. Adam's is the big pumpkin and mine is the little pumpkin. We went to Target and got some pumpkin carving supplies which included a booklet of pumpkin carving patterns. I used the monster pattern which was level 2 and Adam used the Jack-O'-Lantern pattern which was level 1. I thought my pattern looked hard and I wasn't really sure if mine was going to turn out but it did and I was very happy with my finished product. Adam & I both had a few problems but I think our pumpkins turned out looking pretty good!!

I also decided to get two pie pumpkins so I could make my own pumpkin puree instead of having to buy pumpkin in a can. I really love this time of year because pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread are some of my favorite things to eat. So I thought it would be even better if I had homemade pumpkin to put into my favorite recipes. It wasn't very difficult at all to do but it was kind of time consuming, especially because I was trying to carve my pumpkin at the same time. After I was done making the pumpkin puree I made some pumpkin bread using my mom's wonderful recipe. It turned out to be very delicious and I even sent some bread with Adam to his office. Next I plan on making a pumpkin pie and I can't wait but since Adam doesn't really like anything with pumpkin in it I'm going to have to wait till I have more people around to eat the pie.

This weekend is Halloween and I'm excited. I think we are heading out to Bowie to celebrate and make sure the place is ready for hunting season. The weekend after that is my wonderful husband's 25th birthday!!  I can't wait to celebrate Adam's birthday with him!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and Halloween!!!!

Trips, Trips & More Trips

Baby Brenden

Michigan Trip

Michigan Trip

Katy & Travis

Bowie

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything new but things have just started to settle down with Adam & I. Adam had my computer at work for a long time so I didn't have many opportunities to update the blog without my computer.

As you can see Adam & I welcomed our new little nephew Brenden into the world. He was born on October 5, 2009, 4lb 12oz, 18 inches long, at 5:o5 p.m. I was able to make the trip to Waco to see him born but Adam had to stay here and work. He is a small little guy but he is also a very healthy little guy. Ben, Allison, and Brenden have a trip planned to come see us soon so Adam will get to meet his little nephew soon.

We also traveled to Michigan about a month ago for Mike & Katie's wedding. We had a lot of fun watching them get married and we wish them all the best! Michigan was really pretty and if you've never seen the great lakes before they are defiantly a site to see, nothing like our lakes here in Texas. We had a chance to site see on Sunday and he headed to a place called Mackinac Island, there are no motorized vehicles on the the island so everyone walks or rides bikes and horses. We decided we would try riding horses around the island, I got a crazy horse that I really think was trying to kill me and Emily got a very very slow horse that she though might be dying. The horse riding is defiantly an experience that we can now all laugh about! We had a really great time in Michigan and are glad Katie and Mike gave us a reason to go.

Last weekend we went to Bowie to enjoy the cold weather. I love being out at Bowie when it's cold because you can build big fires and actually enjoy the heat from them. Adam tried to impress me by taking me off the trail on the four wheeler, I was not so impressed when we got lost in the woods and the four wheeler broke down and we had to walk back to camp. Luckily Adam had at least brought a flash light with him so I wasn't as scared as I could of been and we made it back to the trail and camp safely. It was an interesting experience and I reminded Adam that he already married me and did not have to impress me and also that is not the kind of thing that impresses me!! We had a good time out in Bowie and soon deer season will start up so we will be heading out there many more weekends.

We've had a lot of stuff going on over the past few months but I think things are finally settling down until the holidays start up. Aggie Football season has started which is one of my favorite times of year!! We started off pretty well but once we started playing hard teams things have gone downhill. I still love my Aggies and will still continue to watch them every Saturday! I will try really hard to get better this time about posting stuff! Hope everyone has a great week!
