Let it Snow

Adam cooking the brisket in the snow on his new smoker

Blake felt like he needed an umbrella to be in the snow

Our little snowman we made from the snow we got over Christmas

The Brisket done it was so good!

Adam getting all the pine needles out of our house after we took the tree out

It snowed all day yesterday afternoon and we were so excited! It didn't stick to anything for a while but then later it started to stick to the grass. It was only about 1/2-1 inch of snow but we still really enjoyed it! Adam was outside cooking a brisket during the snow on his new smoker my mom and dad gave him. It was a really good brisket so thanks mom and dad for such a wonderful present!!

The saddest part of the day was taking down the tree. It's probably one of my least favorite times of the year because I love our Christmas tree so much! Having a real tree is so nice until you take it down and realize there are pine needles everywhere and you have to find a way to get them all out of your house. The Christmas tree is down but the rest of the Christmas decorations are still up because I'm just not ready to accept that Christmas is over because I love this time of year so much!

Mike and Michelle are already here and Blake and Lindsey are on their way and we are going to watch a game at BJ's. Tomorrow we will be headed out to Bowie to ring in the New Years. I can't believe 2009 is coming to an end it certainly doesn't seem like a whole year has passed.  It was a wonderful year for Adam and I, we welcomed two new nephews, witnessed two of our friends get married in Michigan, Celebrated our first anniversary of being married, watched Adam's cousin Josh get married, Emily and Blake got engaged, Nate and Pamela got engaged and we get to watch both of them get married next year and so many more memories were made. Thanks to everyone who made 2009 so great for Adam and I and here is to hoping 2010 is even better and even more wonderful memories are made!! Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful New Years Eve!!!! We love you all and thank you for making our life so wonderful!

SNOW

Snow in our backyard

Adam and I were so sad when we found out Fort Worth was going to have a white Christmas and we weren't going to be there to enjoy all the snow! We thought for sure that the snow had come and gone and we would never get to see it but to our surprise when we came home yesterday there was still some left in our front and backyard. Even more good news the forecast for tomorrow is even more snow and hopefully that will happen and we will really be able to enjoy playing in the snow!!

Even though we did not have a white Christmas it was still a very wonderful Christmas. We got to enjoy lots of time with both of our families. Adam & I have decided that we are very spoiled!! Between both our families Adam and I got everything we could have possibly wanted and more!! We both feel so blessed that we have such wonderful families and that they love and care for us so much!! We spent Christmas morning with Adam's family and ate Christmas lunch with them and then we headed to my family and spent Christmas afternoon with them and had Christmas dinner. It was a wonderful Christmas and I'm glad we got to spend it with all the people we love so much.

Now we are back home and Adam has the week off so we are trying to find stuff we need to get done around the house. As usually Adam is running around looking for some project to do because he can't handle just sitting still (as I'm sitting here writing this Adam is heading up into the attic with a flashlight on his head my mom gave him and I have no idea what he is planning to do up there). I'm just enjoying having my wonderful husband all to myself for a week!!! Today we will watch the Aggie football game and hopefully they will BTHO Georgia.

I don't know what is wrong with me but I have no pictures to show for our Christmas trip home, I guess we were too busy enjoying being with our families to take pictures. Hopefully tomorrow I will have pictures to put up of Adam & I playing in the snow and maybe next years Christmas card will have a real snowman!!

Mike & Michelle will be coming to visit us for New Years Eve and I'm very excited to see them! Last year we took a ski trip to New Mexico with them but this year we couldn't do that so they are coming to see us. Mike, Michelle, Blake, Emily, Adam & I will all be headed out to Bowie to celebrate New Years Eve. Hopefully Blake (Lars), Mike McLeod, and Katie will also join us but we are not sure yet. I'm sure we will have lots have fun and last time I heard there is a lot more snow still in Bowie and hopefully with snow coming tomorrow maybe we will have a white New Years!!

I hope everyone had as wonderful of a Christmas as Adam & I did! I even made the German Chocolate Cake at my house, which in the Cox family it is tradition to make and then on Christmas morning we sing happy birthday to Jesus. Have a great week!!

Merry Christmas!!

Just in case you didn't receive our Christmas card this year I wanted to put it up for everyone to enjoy. I know many of you thought we were trying to pretend we were in snow in the picture with the snowman but really we were just being silly because last years Christmas card had a real snowman.

Adam & I have already had our Christmas on Sunday and opened our presents together. He got me a vest, pajamas, slippers, and a comfy fleece jacket and I love all of the wonderful presents he gave me. I got him slippers, a robe, A&M crocs, and some clothes and I think he loved all the gifts that I gave him. We had a very wonderful Christmas together!

Last weekend Adam's parents came to see us and we had a very good visit with them. We got a chance to go see Emily sing and it was very beautiful. Emily and Blake came over last night and I cooked stew and we had our Christmas with them and tonight we are going to the BK happy hour.

Tomorrow we are headed home to see our families. I can't wait to see everyone and celebrate Christmas with our families. It will be a very busy Christmas but I very wonderful Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE and safe traveling!!

Fireplace Decorations

Sorry it took me so long to get the decoration pictures up but here they are. We also have lights Adam put up outside but I haven't gotten a picture of that yet. We got our tree last week and when we picked it out Adam said that's a little bigger than last year and I thought no it's about the same size and when we got it home I realized yes that tree is a little bit bigger than last years. Luckily we have that big front room to put the tree in and it fits in our house fine and looks beautiful. We are hanging all the Christmas cards that we receive around the fireplace but so far it's just us and the Garrett's but hopefully we will get more soon. I really love all our Christmas decorations!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week and weekend!!

Thanks Nanny & Pop!!

The New Freezer with Adam

Adam & I got a very wonderful early Christmas present from Nanny and Pop today. They gave us the freezer in the picture above. Pop thought we might need it a little early because hopefully Adam will shoot a deer soon and we can fill with meat. Also it will be nice because every time I come home from grocery shopping it is very difficult for me to figure out a way to fit it all in our freezer. Thank you for the very wonderful present Adam & I are very very happy!!! We love you both very much!!!

I will have pictures of our house decorated for Christmas tomorrow!! Also everyone be on the look out for a special delivery in their mail box because our Christmas cards have been sent out!

Thanksgiving

Cox Family Thanksgiving

 Hueske Family Thanksgiving

 Galveston

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!! We got to see all of our families and make a trip to Adam's grandparents beach house in Galveston.

We started off our trip in College Station with the Cox family to watch baby Brenden get baptized on Wednesday night and celebrate my Dad's Birthday. Adam & I even got a chance to baby sit our little nephew Brenden while Ben & Allison went out with some friends. He is such a sweet little guy!! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the Cox Family that morning and I'm so glad we got to spend all the time with my family.

Thanksgiving afternoon we headed to Brenham to have the Hueske Thanksgiving. It's a Hueske tradition that all the guys go out after eating and shoot skeet and that's where the pictures above are from. Most of us girls sit on the truck tailgate and watch but some girls do choose to participate but not me. After skeet shooting we all head back to the fire house for a second round of eating Thanksgiving dinner. Then the guys stayed back and played poker while Emily, Abi, and I went back to Adam's parents house to watch the Aggie game. Although the Aggies did not win they did put up a good fight and gave the Longhorns a scare so I'm still proud of them!

Friday afternoon we headed to Galveston for some fishing with Blake and Emily. We don't get many chances to go to the Galveston beach house anymore because it's so far away from Fort Worth so we were excited to go. It was pretty good fishing we caught red fish, sheep's head, flounder, trout, eel, yellow tail, and some other kinds I can't remember. We kept a flounder and some trout and are going to have a fish fry sometime soon. It was a really great trip and it's so relaxing sitting out there and fishing.

On our way back home on Sunday we stopped by Tomball to see Granny Robinson since she couldn't make it to Thanksgiving this year. We had a very good visit with her and I'm so glad we got a chance to see her. It was a very very very long trip home and we didn't get back till about 9:00 Sunday night. It was a very wonderful Thanksgiving and I'm so thankful that Adam & I have such wonderful families!

Next weekend Adam & I are going to get our tree and I'm so excited!! I already have a few presents wrapped and ready to go under the tree. Christmas is my favorite time of year I love decorating the house and the tree and I'm very thankful that God sent his son to save us all!! I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!
