Adam's Projects

Bathroom Shelves

Shot Glass Shelf

This weekend Adam started some projects with all his new tools he got around his birthday. He started with a shot glass shelf for all the shot glasses we have collected from places we have been and also that have been given to us. The reason behind this was we broke two of our shot glasses and decided it was time for them to have a new home. We plan on painting it black to match our kitchen. He was having a lot of fun making stuff so he decided to make shelves for our bathroom to go behind the toilet since we don't really have any storage in there and I think we are going to stain them and he is going to put cabinet doors on them. He is doing a really good job and having lots of fun.

We had a really great Valentine's Day dinner and the pizza at that place is so good! We also played some games that night after dinner and I hate to say it but I think Adam came out the winner of the night.

I've been looking for jobs and I've applied at a couple of Day Cares as a teacher so hopefully I hear back about something! I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.

On Sunday I cooked brisket in the crock pot and we had Micheal over to join us. It turned out to be really delicious and it was a nice way to end a wonderful weekend!

I'll post pictures of Adam's finished projects when he gets done. We are heading home this weekend for Granny's 90th birthday party so we will see everyone soon!

Valentine's Day Surprise!

Flowers from Adam

The doorbell rang and it was the UPS guy with flowers from my wonderful husband! I was super excited about the surprise and wanted to share with everyone what a wonderful husband I have!

We also got a wonderful homemade Valentine's day card from our niece, Katy that she made for us. I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day tomorrow and gets to spend it with the people that they love!

Not much else going on in the Hueske house so I guess that's it for now.

Time To Get Moving

Heather, Katy, & Shower Hosts

Shower Cupcakes

Adam & I started walking around the neighborhood last night and we are ready to start getting in shape! After our walk we went to Blockbuster to get another 24 and we also drove our walk route and found out it's about 2 miles. So we plan on taking walks most nights during the week and maybe eventually we will start jogging our route. I also tried the Dancing with the Stars exercise video that my mother-in-law gave me for Christmas. It was a pretty good workout, I did all the dances, the warm-up, and the toning of the video it was about an hour workout. My goal is to get in shape by labor day weekend because I will be in Mike & Katie's Wedding that weekend in Michigan and I want to look good!

Saturday was Heather's baby shower that I helped host and it was a lot of fun! Heather got a lot of clothes and stuff for Travis so hopefully they will have everything they need when he gets here. I got cupcakes from The Cakery in Southlake and they were delicious I think everyone enjoyed them and we even had enough left over to share with our families. I'm just really happy we could do a shower for Heather and I hope we have helped with her stress level.

BIG NEWS!! My brother, Ben and my sister-in-law, Allison are expecting a baby sometime in August or September. I talked to her yesterday and she is hoping to get to the doctor next week and then we can find out a more accurate date on when the baby will be arriving. We are all very excited to add another addition to our growing family. That will be a third niece or nephew for Adam & I and we can't wait to meet him or her!

Adam made a reservation at Campania Pizza & More in Southlake for Valentine's day so we are excited. We've been there once and they are pretty good and they have a special Valentine's Day menu. Can't wait for our special date together!

Well that's all I have for now. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Chicken Pot Pie

Finished Chicken Pot Pie

Adam with dough on his nose

Adam got off work a little early last night so he helped me cook dinner. I was making homemade Chicken Pot Pie for the first time so it was an interesting experience. It took about 2 hours in all to make but Adam and I had fun cooking together. I didn't have a biscuit cutter so I told Adam to pick out one of my cookie cutters and he picked out a star, so we think it's Texas style Chicken Pot Pie! It was pretty good and it's also a good way for me to get Adam to eat a bunch of vegetables.

Well we are heading home today! I'm excited to see everyone, we haven't been home since Christmas so it's been a little while. I'll post more when we get back but for now I've got to get ready to go out of town.

Surprise!

Well......Josh, my brother-in-law and I have been planning a surprise shower for my sister, Heather for about 3 weeks now. Turns out someone didn't quite get the surprise part of the shower and called Heather and gave it away. She is super excited about the shower but it's still a little sad that we couldn't surprise her! So the real reason we are headed home this weekend, Heather's baby shower. It's should be a lot of fun I'm hosting it with my best friend, Pamela and her Mom and we are all really happy to be doing this for Heather! Heather wasted no time after finding out, when I looked at the Target registry that I created for her she has already been to the store and updated it with more items she needs for Travis. I'm just glad she is going to get all the stuff she needs for when baby Travis gets here!

Besides that not much else going on in the Hueske household. We finished the first season of 24 last night it was good but I wasn't exactly happy about the ending. I've got errands I need to run today so that's it for now.

24

Rodeo

Adam is heading to Blockbuster to get the next DVD of the TV show 24 so this gave me a chance to update the blog. We started watching 24 last week and we have really gotten into the show! It's a pretty cool show that takes place over 24 hours in real time and we've heard it's pretty good from a lot of people so we decided we would give a try and it's great.

I posted a picture Blake took of us at the Rodeo two weekends ago, it's a little blurry but I like it anyways. The Rodeo was pretty interesting, we went because Blake's girlfriend, Emily had never been and she really wanted to experience a Texas Rodeo. She seems to think us Texans are pretty interesting people and loves to drag us to all the cliche Texas activites.

Adam would like to me to let everyone know he does not think the blog is silly he thinks the blogger is silly. That's alright because we all know Adam is pretty silly so we must go well together!

Adam just got back so we are about to start our show but I will update some more soon!

Welcome

So a lot of my friends have started blogs letting their family and friends know about what's going on in their lives and I decided that maybe I would give it a try. We live in Fort Worth but our families and most of our friends still live in College Station and Brenham where Adam and I are from. I figured this was a good way for everyone that we care about back home to know what is going on in our lives. Not sure how much Adam will be help with this, Adam thinks blogging is pretty silly but I like the idea so I'm going to do it anyway.

Life has been pretty good to us here in Fort Worth so far and hopefully we will be here for a lot longer. We are renting a 4 bedroom house which is a little big for us but we really love it and it has plenty of room for us to expand whenever that day comes, but don't worry guys we are not planning on that anytime soon. We really love having people at our house so most weekends we have people over. We also have plenty of room for guests to come and stay with us so come visit us anytime! Just recently Lars (as Adam likes to call him but really he goes by Blake) came and stayed with us for the weekend and we went to the Rodeo on Friday with Blake, Emily, Lars, and Mike and then on Saturday we BBQ Fajitas and had everyone over that night and Katie, Mike's fiance came as well. We played some really fun games catch phrase and partini, we always end up cracking up while playing these games makes for a very entertaining night.

We've met a lot of great people since we've moved here and it's nice to have such a great group of friends, not sure what we would do without all of them. Most of the people we hang out with work with Adam, he really has a great group of people that he works with!

We're heading home this weekend so hopefully we'll get to hang out with all our friends and family. Adam and I have this adorable little niece, Katy she is so awesome I can't express how much I love that little girl! We also have a nephew on the way, Travis I can't wait to meet him, he is due in April but I have a feeling he might be arriving a little early. Katy and Adam get along very well he will play with her forever and she just loves it and I know he loves it too. She is a silly little girl just like the rest of her family and people say she looks and acts a lot like me which makes her Auntie so very proud. We have really great families they are so wonderful and supportive and have helped us so much with everything we do. We love you all very much!

I think that's about it for me today I've caught you up on The Hueske Happenings for now and more to come soon, I'm sure I'll have some entertaining stories from our trip home because we usually do.

Love you all
