Big Boy - 8 months

Jackson turned 8 months old yesterday and I don't even know where to begin, he has turned into such a big boy this month!! The most exciting thing, at least for Mom and Dad, he dropped his 4:30 am feeding and has been sleeping completely trough the night!! I can't tell you how amazing it is to finally get a full nights sleep after almost 8 months, he now sleeps from 7:30 to around 7:00-7:30 and Mom and Dad could not be happier! He takes two naps a day now, one at 9:30 and one at 2:00 but we make some napping adjustments on Stroller Stride days and he seems to do fine with that. He has mastered army crawling and gets into EVERYTHING now, I turn my back for a second and he has found something new he shouldn't have. He gets up on all fours all the time and does a few scoots like that but still prefers army crawling as his main form of movement. He can pull up with some help and can stand on his own holding things no problem. He throws a fit anytime you take something away from him but gets over it quickly once he finds the next thing to get into. He is our happy, sweet little boy and has no problem giving out smiles and sometimes you can even get a very wet and slobbery kiss from him. We couldn't possibly love him any more! Here is his likes and dislikes for the month...

I'll also include a couple outtakes from our photo shoot because this boy is such a character during our photo shoots these days...

I don't even know what to say, waving at the camera I guess or maybe please Mom stop, he does wave sometimes these days

It looks like he is doing a little dance when you flip through all the pictures

Trigger tried to get in on the photo shoot

Here are some more photos from what our little 8 month old has been up to lately...

Good Morning Mom now would you please get me out of here!

This is how they always find me these days up on all fours and smiling!

I can play with this right?

Mom's little taste tester, testing out some sweet potatoes with cinnamon

Cutest little kitchen helper in the world!

I love drinking water out of my straw sippy cup

This kid has so many faces it's hard to just pick out one photo

So much love we have for this kid, I don't know how we got so lucky!!

Dad & Jack on his 8 months Birthday!

Jackson and Trigger, best buds!

Happy Boy!

Grammy gave me these boots, I think it's so I can run around at her house in the country!

Having lots of fun in my ducky tub!!

He really loves bath time, he gets upset when it's over

I know that was a ton of pictures but I think most of you won't mind and I can't help that our boy takes so many good pictures!!

I have one more very exciting thing before I end this blog post, these three cousins and friends that grew up together are going to carry onto the next generation with three boys just like them!!

I find this picture to be pretty humorous for three reasons, 1. Blake even on his wedding day waiting for his bride to arrive is giving me his typical glare 2. Adam the one that always smiles is not smiling and 3. Josh the one that never smiles is smiling!!

Please allow me to explain my poor picture choice, when I took on the task of finding a picture of these three boys together I had no idea it would be an impossible task! I looked everywhere I have thousands of pictures on my computer, not one of those three, I looked on facebook, not one of those three, so I have come to the conclusion next time we will get a picture of these three together!! Anyway we are very very excited because today we found out that Emily and Blake are going to have a boy come February!! We will have Walker Woods who turned the big one today, Jackson Hueske who turned 8 months yesterday  and "Horacio" Hueske who is coming soon.  Sorry, I'm only kidding about the name Horacio. It is a name that Blake has jokingly (I think) given the baby while we wait to learn his real name. I think it's going to be fun to watch this next generation grow up together and I hope they will be best buds just like their Daddy's but maybe not get into quite as much trouble as them, ha! I wish Blake and Emily good luck on this crazy adventure of parenthood, I know you guys will make great parents to baby boy Hueske!!

Today I will leave with a picture of the wonderful parents to be and our little man when he was very little!

Happily Chaotic

My house is kind of a mess right now, the laundry needs to be done, the floors need to be swept and mopped, the rugs need to be vacuumed and our bags from last weekend just got unpacked. Normally I wouldn't admit this, I am the kind of person who tries to always have my house spotless when people stop by and wants the world to believe that Adam & I live this fairy tale life where everything is always perfectly in its place. I think I finally learned this weekend that life just doesn't work that way, especially not with a baby! Last week instead of being the perfect housewife and getting this crazy house cleaned up, I chose to have fun with my son, we went on play dates and Stroller Strides and had a lot of fun and I am happy I chose this route. This weekend instead of getting this crazy house cleaned up we went to a Birthday Party, watched the Aggie Football game, went to the Fort Worth Food Truck Park, Church, Petsmart and the whole family took a 2 hour nap yesterday!!! Last night as Adam & I finished putting Jackson down for bed and I had basically missed bath time because I couldn't handle the mess and had to clean up a little, I looked at him and said I am happy we spent our weekend this way instead of cleaning up this house it was a lot of fun and that's when I realized I am happy with our crazy, messy, chaotic life and I wouldn't have it any other way! My house may not always be spotless, the yard may not look like the best one on the block and there may be a list of projects that need to get done a mile long but this weekend Adam, Jackson and I enjoyed life as a family and that was exactly what we needed to be doing!

Ready for some Aggie Football Whoop!! Aggies won 48-3!!

This week things might have to be a little different and we will try to get a few more things done, the laundry has started and little by little my house is getting cleaned up!! Poor Jackson woke up this morning with a bit of a stuffy nose so we stayed home from Stroller Strides today so he could get a good morning nap. We are learning to balance things, we can have fun and things don't always have to be perfect! I feel like I'm a pretty good Mom but not always the best at the housewife part of the job, lucky for me my husband likes me just the way I am and doesn't care if the house isn't always spotless!

Last week I went to Central Market with Heather and Ty and got some supplies for baby food. We were in desperate need of some and I also wanted to try out some new recipes since Jackson is getting older and likes more complex food these days.

Jackson had fun playing in Ty's tunnel after central market

I made Jackson a fruit smoothie which he loves, I am going to have to make more soon!

CAUGHT!!! My little trouble makers, Jackson thinks it's fun to feed Trigger and Trigger is loving it, it's hard to get the food made when you have these silly boys around!

I also made him sweet potato, carrot and chicken, he doesn't like this quite as much as the fruit smoothie!

I still have a ton of baby food I need to make this week, just another thing on the to do list, it's going to be a busy week! Here are some pictures from our fun weekend...

Having fun in the tub, Dad gave me a bubble beard!

Ready for some Aggie Football!!

Watching Football with Dad

Trigger picking out his Birthday present at Petsmart

Jackson had fun watching Trigger pick out his present

With so many choices it was hard for Trigger to pick out a toy!!

Trigger and Jack at the Fort Worth Food Truck Park after the Aggie Win!!

Jackson hanging out with Peyton at Ty & Luke's Birthday Party

Making a mess at lunch today!

I can't believe it but Jackson turns 8 months old on Thursday!! I'll leave you with a picture of him being adorable as usual, all I can say is I really really love this kid!!

Just Ducky

Sometimes the smallest investments can have the largest outcome. Let me explain, a couple weeks ago Adam & I were out shopping at Buy Buy Baby getting a few things Jackson needed and we came across a blow up duck tub, Adam insisted that we needed this $14.99 tub, I was skeptical and for once I will admit I was wrong. We did need a solution to our bath time problems and this duck tub was the perfect solution, bath time is no longer a struggle, it's actually enjoyable.

The duck tub was an instant success even before we put it in the bath tub

We got him this hair washing bucket, he also loves that

Lounging in the tub

You probably thought that the only use for this would be a tub but if you thought that you would be wrong. Uncle Blake got Jackson a surprise recently and it was a big bag of balls, what do you do with a big bag of balls...

You fill up the duck tub and make a ball pit of course!!

He had a lot of fun!

We are having a lot of fun now during bath time and I would highly recommend the $14.99 investment if you are in need of a baby tub!

Life has finally settled down a bit and we have gotten Abigail married and sent off to Hawaii on her Honeymoon! We had a lot of fun at all the wedding festivities and Abigail had the Wedding of her dreams! I am so happy for them and as soon as they get back they move to Waco, which makes them only an hour and a half away from us now! We have already scheduled them to babysit at the end of this month! I am hoping we will get to see them a lot more now because I really miss them and I really enjoyed running around with the bride all weekend! I'm sure it's no surprise that the wedding will have to be a post of it's own because it was so amazing and deserves all the attention but also because I need to gather some more pictures. We did a pretty good job of taking pictures of all the festivities leading up to the Wedding but when it comes to the Wedding I pretty much got nothing, I was a little busy running around trying to be the Matron of Honor and trying to keep one eye on my kid that was being held by a million people. I will give you a very small preview, the pictures are from Adam's phone and they aren't the best but it's something...

The Bride and her very cute Ring Bearer

Me with the beautiful Bride!

My handsome boys in their tuxes!

Getting back into the groove of things has been a bit tough this week but we are working on it, here is what we have been up to...

We got back into our 5K training, although some of us aren't working very hard!

Jack took a 3 1/2 hour nap in order to recover from the exciting weekend!

Of course he had to show off how cute he can be!

Really this kid is just too cute!

He almost always has a smile on his face, I love how happy he is all the time!

We went to Jason's Deli after Stroller Strides with Heather and Ty

Ty and Jack had fun shopping!

Lounging in the shopping cart eating a snack, life is good for this kid!

Just one more thing before I end this post, someone in the family is celebrating a Birthday this week...

It's Mr. Trigger Bear Hueske!! Turning the big 2!!

You better believe we will be celebrating by taking the whole family to PetSmart and letting him pick out a toy!! We love our little furbaby and he has been a great dog for us these past 2 years! I will leave you with a photo of the birthday boy and his best friend Jack...
