Eighteen Months!

This Saturday Jackson Floyd turned eighteen months, one and half year old! It's shocking to me that he has gone from my teeny tiny baby to a full blown toddler! I can't believe that a half a year has gone by since we celebrated his first birthday and how much he has changed since that day. Here is the little guy on his half birthday...

He went for his eighteen month check up on Monday and here are his stats, 24.8 pounds (56%) and 32 inches tall (35%). He only had to get one shot this check up and he took it like a champ barely even a tear, it was a good check up and our little bear is doing great! Here are some of the things Jackson is doing at 18 months...

  • Talking, Talking Talking - I'd say he has around 30 words right now, sometimes we won't hear a word for days but he knows them. Let's see here are some of them, Mama, Dada, NaNaNan (Nanny), PawPaw, Oney (Honey), Hobby, WaWa (Water), Boat, No (one of his favorites unfortunately), ByeBye, Hi, Oh No, Alright, Milk, Nack ( Snack), Bacon, Abi, Trigger, Dog, Cat, Car, Truck, Cookie, Duck, Go, Chair, Choo Choo and I am sure there are many more I am forgetting right now. He can also make several animal sounds like, Cow, Duck, Sheep, Turkey, Dog, Horse, Lion, Elephant and many more.  He really has become quite the talker.

This kid always has something to say

  • Climbing - Oh this boy loves to climb, on the couch, ottoman, table, highchair, you name it he wants to climb it, it's really quite dangerous but he doesn't seem to care.

The boy loves to climb

  • Running - Everywhere this boy goes he wants to run, it's led to a lot of cuts and bruises along the way but he is learning.

Sometimes he is moving so quick we can't even get clothes on him ;)

  • Playing Outside - He favorite activity right now is playing at the playground, he could spend hours there if I let him. He gets very upset if we don't stop at the playground when he sees it.

Here he is with his friends Ty and Luke at the playground

  • Eating - This kid has become like a bottomless pit lately, it seems like he just keeps shoveling the food into his mouth. He is a growing boy that's for sure!

Watermelon and Spaghetti what a combo

  • Being Silly - He is such a goof ball always cracking us up!

  • Sleeping - He is a good sleeper, goes to bed at 7:30 and naps at 1:30 for 2-3 hours. Our only complaint in that department he gets up pretty early usually ready to go by 7:00 at the latest.

He often likes to sleep with his dog on his head

  • Bath time - He still loves bath time and playing in the water. Whenever we ask if he is ready for a bath he goes running towards the bath room and starts taking off his clothes.

He loves being in the water and playing with his toys!

  • Hugs and Kisses - He is still our sweet little boy and gives out lots of hugs and kisses. He still likes to do the head kiss but he has also added in Eskimo kisses, he usually gives Adam and I a couple before bed time.

Giving Mom some kisses while having frozen yogurt on his 18 month b-day

  • Trigger - He loves his dog Trigger, they are best friends and love playing together

Trigger isn't always so sure about their relationship, Jackson is always trying to capture him and give him hugs

  • Reading - He loves to look a books and loves it when we read to him, we read at least one book a night before bed time.

Sweet boy reading a book

We love him a lot and we are so glad that we get to raise our sweet little boy! Here is our little family riding the train last weekend.

Have a great weekend!

Summer Vacay- Galveston with Family

This 4th of July Adam & I decided it would be fun to head to Galveston with the Hueske Family. It was the first time we went with Nanny and Pop and Adam's Parents aka Grammy and Pawpaw. We knew it would be a long drive for Jackson but we broke it up by stopping by my parents house in College Station and having dinner. It was well worth the long drive and we had a blast hanging out around Galveston with family. Jackson got a chance to spend some wonderful quality time with his grandparents and great grandparents and by the time it was time to go home he had formed even stronger relationships with each one of them. I'm so glad we decided to go and it was such a wonderful family vacation, we are already ready to go back!! This time I took lots and lots of pictures so I will let them tell the story of our vacation...

We got in late Wednesday night but Jackson slept in Thursday morning and woke up in his red, white and blue ready to celebrate the 4th!

He wanted to start off his vacation with fishing

Checking out the beach with Dad, he was a little unsure about it at first but he warmed up to it

Mother's & Father's Day!

Adam & I are pretty lucky to be parents to our wonderful little boy Jackson. He makes us laugh and warms our hearts with his sweetness, he is silly and wonderful and the perfect addition to our family! When it comes to celebrating a day of being parents to this little guy it's pretty easy to see why it's such a celebration! I try to make Father's Day special for Adam and he does the same for me on Mother's Day.

I can't imagine anyone else being the Father of my children and I know no one could do as good a job as Adam does. He is a wonderful Father always hands on and has helped me every step of the way with raising Jackson. Jackson looks up to him and he is very much a Daddy's boy right now. He gets so excited when Daddy comes home and runs to the door yelling Dada. I love my boys!!

Here are some pictures from Mother's Day...
