The Big ONE - 12 Months

It's happened, my little baby has turned into a toddler! It wasn't just hitting his 1st birthday, it was that combined with all the other things he has started doing these days. The biggest milestone he hit was walking, it started slowly a step here and a step there but now he is walking all over the place. Not only can he walk but he is getting really good at standing up on his own too, his favorite thing to do grab a way too large toy and walk all around with it. He has also become quite the climber these days, benches have basically been banned from this house because he keeps climbing up on them in very dangerous ways! He is quite the talker these days and added words like ball and wow to his vocabulary. He made the change from formula to whole milk like a champ barely blinking an eye when we made the switch, now we just have to get rid of the bottle and pacifier. I'm super proud of how far he has come since we brought our little boy home! I'm also proud of Adam and I for making it through the first year of parenthood, it wasn't always easy but we did it together and I think we did great! It's been quite the year and right now I'm having a lot of fun raising our little boy! I love this current stage as I watch Jackson become more independent and learn about the world around him. Here is his final likes and and dislikes (don't get me wrong you will still get plenty of updates but this will conclude the monthly likes and dislikes)...

For Jackson's 1st Birthday Adam and I got him his very own little chair. I don't why but way before I ever had kids I have always wanted my kid to have one of these chairs. When trying to decide what we should get Jack, the kid that has almost everything, I figured this would be the perfect present. I had no idea that apparently this was exactly the thing Jack had been missing. We placed the chair in the living room and when he spotted it he immediately crawled right over to it and sat down, he knew it was his own chair and he was so proud! Here are some pictures from the event...

Trying out his new chair, Trigger is unsure why he doesn't own a chair

He must try climbing out of the chair the wrong way

He spends a lot of time lounging in his chair these days

Jackson's Birthday Party was on Saturday and the next day was Jackson's actual Birthday so he spent the majority of his birthday traveling home but we tried to make it extra special...

We made a pit stop a Dairy Queen

He got to have some of Mommy's Blizzard

We took him to Olive Garden for dinner and when we got home we sang Happy Birthday again

He got another piece of his birthday cake and without the big audience he really enjoyed eating his cake

He thought he needed to put some on his head

Do you want a hug now?

After his cake it was time for a bath and bed for the birthday boy

It was a special day for all of us and Adam & I tried to soak up every minute of his birthday. We kept remembering what was happening last year at that time and how special that day was when we met our baby boy! What a year we have had, I think Adam & I have grown stronger together and learned a lot about each other. Jackson fits perfectly in our family and I couldn't be happier than I am right now! I look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with our little boy! I will leave you with some more pictures of our one year old and a video of him showing off his walking and standing skills...
