Home Sweet Home...Almost

Sorry it's been so long since I posted anything but we have been super busy around the new Hueske household! We are finally all moved in and no longer have the Kentish house. It only took a weekend to get most of our stuff here but it took a lot longer to try to get it all organized. The Garage is still a mess but inside the house is looking pretty good! Of course all this did not come with out problems...Last weekend I was decorating the kitchen and I dropped a sign on the stove and broke our glass top, after a lot of research we discovered it was just a little more expensive to get a new stove, so now we have a brand new stove, a bit of an unexpected problem but it all worked out in the end. Besides that we are loving our new house and our new stove. Here are a few picture of our new house...

We've received some wonderful house warming gifts! We got home depot cards from both our parents, which we can't wait to go use and an awesome smoker from Nanny and Pop. Here is a picture of our new smoker on our awesome deck.

I also went to College Station to throw a shower for my best friend Pamela, who is getting married June 5. The shower went really well and I think it turned out perfect for her. Now I'm preparing to plan her bachelorette party and getting ready for the big day! I'm so excited for Nate and Pamela and I can't wait to be apart of their big day!

Right now we have a very small house guest for the week. My sister, brother-in-law, and our little niece Katy are going to Disney World this week and my parents are meeting them there in their camper. So they flew out today from Love Field and we are keeping their dog Rowdy for the week. He is a pretty cute little guy and very low maintenance, all he really does is sleep and play with his ball.

Apparently our house guest thinks the best seat is our dirty laundry

We also had the Annual Barnett Shale Crawfish Boil a few weekends ago, which is always a lot of fun! This year I was in charge of getting a work group together to make 1500 jello shots (we bring jello shots every year to hand out), it turned out really well and we knocked all 1500 out in about an hour and a half.

These are the kind of things we do at BK, don't you wish you worked with us!

Things are going great for Adam & I we are both keeping busy with work and I'm stilling loving my job! We have a lot of stuff coming up  so we are going to be pretty busy for a while. Here are some of the things we have coming up, Heather, Josh and Katy come back next weekend and take our little house guest home, Abi comes to visit the next weekend, Pamela's bachelorette party, Pamela & Nate's Wedding, 4th of July party with BK, and Blake and Emily get married in October and I'm sure there will be many other things in between I can't think of right now.

Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the weekend! Happy Mother's day to all the wonderful Mother's in our life!!

Buying Our First Home!

I know it's been a very long time since I last posted anything but we have been very busy over the past month. Adam & I finally decided to take the leap and buy our first home and we couldn't be more excited!! We are set to close on April 16 and hopefully everything will go smoothly and that will happen. Here are some pictures of our new home.

The New House on Moccasin Lane

Actually I don't have a lot of great pictures of our new house so just the one of the front of our house will have to do for now. I promise once we get the house I will take more pictures and put them up. We are super excited about the purchase of our new home and can't wait for everything to be finalized and be in the home.

Last weekend we went home for our niece and nephew's birthday party. Katy was turning 4 (which I can't believe she can actually be that old) and Travis was turning 1. It was fun celebrating their birthdays and spending time with our families. We also got a chance to go to Brenham and have an early Easter dinner with the Hueske family. Here are some pictures from the birthday party.

I guess she liked her present!

I think Travis liked his present from Uncle Adam & Auntie Melissa too!
Adam and I are very excited because tomorrow we leave for Bryson's Lake house for Easter weekend! Blake, Emily, Michael, maybe Katie, Josh, and Lindsey are all coming to the lake house and we are going to have a big Easter dinner on Saturday. We can't wait to have a long weekend at the lake house fishing and relaxing. Adam gave me my birthday present early so that I can use it this weekend and guess what it is....it's a really awesome camera!! I can't wait to use it and take some awesome pictures and also it will give me motivation to take pictures!!
I'll leave you with some wonderful ice skating pictures I meant to post a long time ago from when Adam, Blake, Emily and I went ice skating. It was fun and no one had any major accidents.

Valentine's Day

Cajun Chicken Alfredo Adam & I cooked for dinner

The Beautiful Roses Adam sent to me on Valentine's Day

Chocolate Melting Cake we cooked for dessert

Adam & I had a wonderful Valentine's Day together. We went to the grocery store and gathered all the supplies we needed to make Valentine's Day dinner together. We decided that we would make Cajun Chicken Alfredo, one of Adam's favorite meals I cook is Chicken Alfredo so I decided we should change it up for Valentine's Day. We made everything together and it was a lot of fun, it's always nice to have someone to help you make dinner! Adam gave me a pink snuggie and a gift card for a massage and I gave him some much needed clothes (I know my gift to him was much more boring). I really love my snuggie, I always have a blanket on and this one works perfectly because it has arms! I hope everyone else had a wonderful Valentine's Day with their special someone!

Nothing else exciting going on with the Hueske's, it's nice to have us both working and we are enjoying working together! I'm a little upset because I have Jury Duty on Thursday and I'm really not looking forward to that. I'm really hoping I get dismissed right away and can head back to work!!

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!!

The Ultimate of Snow Days!

We got about 12.5 inches of snow

Playing in the snow around our house

The Commute to work on Thursday & Friday

Trash bag sledding (Penguin) and playing in the park
The Trash Bag Sledding Gang

It doesn't feel like we are in Texas anymore after getting 12 1/2 inches of snow on Thursday and breaking the record for the amount of snow that has fallen in 24 hours! After the weather man predicted maybe an inch of snow for Thursday you wouldn't believe how surprised I was when I woke up on Thursday morning and there was already at least 2 inches of snow on the ground. Adam & I decided we should still head to work and try and get a few things done before the weather started getting really bad and everything started to freeze. We came home around 2:00 and played in the snow and made our snowman and then had the McLeod's over for Chili. It snowed all day on Thursday and was still snowing when we went to bed on Thursday night, I couldn't believe all the snow, I never thought I would see this much snow while living in Texas.

We woke up Friday morning to lots and lots of snow everywhere you couldn't see the street, sidewalks or anything, everything was just white, so pretty and peaceful. We decided to go to work around 10:00 after the ice was gone and it was safe to drive. Emily and Blake called later that afternoon and asked us if we wanted to go sledding in the park outside of downtown Fort Worth, they said they bought trash bags that we could use to sled, Adam & I were both pretty unsure of if the trash bags would work for sledding, but Emily is from up north so we figured she must know it would work. Trash bag sledding was more fun than I could have ever expected!! You cut a hole out of the top for your head and holes for your arms and put it on and then run and flop down on the snow and go flying down the hill, it was a blast! I called it the penguin because I think you look like a penguin when you are flying down the hill. Then we made a snowman for all the cars passing by to enjoy and then it was time to head home because trash bag sledding really wears you out.

As you can tell from all the pictures (we have so many more I couldn't put them all up because it's too many) we had the best snow days EVER!! There is still a lot of snow on the ground today and I think it will take it a while to all go away. I love it and I'm just enjoying looking at the snow and staring in amazement because I still can't believe we got this much snow!

I haven't updated in a while because Adam and I have been very busy! I've been working at BK for the past month helping out and I'm really enjoying working there. It feels so nice to get out of the house and work!

Valentine's Day is tomorrow and Adam and I plan on cooking dinner together and hang out around the house enjoying being with each other. We thought about going out to dinner but neither one of us want to deal with all the people, we would rather just stay at home and enjoy each others company.

I'll try and be better about updating but I leave my computer at the office most of the time so that makes it hard to update the blog.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE!!

Today is Adam & I's 2nd year wedding anniversary! I feel so blessed to have married such a wonderful man and this has been the best 2 years of my life! Adam woke me up this morning with breakfast in bed and he climbed back in bed and we had a wonderful breakfast together!! Tonight Adam is taking me to Ruth's Chris Steak House for a romantic dinner and I'm so excited I can't wait for our date!! We've made it a tradition that after dinner we come back to the house and drink champagne out of our wedding glasses and watch some of our wedding videos and dance to our first dance song. It should be a very wonderful night and I can't wait to celebrate with the best husband in the world!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Happy New Year!

New Years Eve

We had a really wonderful New Years Eve and Day out at Bowie. We had lots of our friends together out at Bowie, Blake, Emily, Mike, Michelle, Josh, Lindsey, Lars, Lindsey, Adam, and I. When we first arrived at Bowie it was so cold and snowing (not the good snow that sticks to the ground but wet cold snow) we all huddled under the garage for a while until we finally gave up and stayed inside until it stopped snowing. Once it stopped snowing it was still very cold but we could all sit by the big fire and that made the cold a lot more bearable. The boys set off lots of fireworks and that was fun to watch but also a bit scary because sometimes I thought they might hit us with fireworks. I'm so glad I got to ring in the New Year with so many wonderful friends!

Now it's 2010 and I can't believe it but I'm excited because I'm sure this will be a great year! Adam had to go back to work today so I'm a little sad about that because I was really enjoying having him around the house all day. Adam and I's 2 year anniversary is coming up and I can't believe it but I'm excited to celebrate another year of marriage with my wonderful husband!

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year and welcome to 2010!

Let it Snow

Adam cooking the brisket in the snow on his new smoker

Blake felt like he needed an umbrella to be in the snow

Our little snowman we made from the snow we got over Christmas

The Brisket done it was so good!

Adam getting all the pine needles out of our house after we took the tree out

It snowed all day yesterday afternoon and we were so excited! It didn't stick to anything for a while but then later it started to stick to the grass. It was only about 1/2-1 inch of snow but we still really enjoyed it! Adam was outside cooking a brisket during the snow on his new smoker my mom and dad gave him. It was a really good brisket so thanks mom and dad for such a wonderful present!!

The saddest part of the day was taking down the tree. It's probably one of my least favorite times of the year because I love our Christmas tree so much! Having a real tree is so nice until you take it down and realize there are pine needles everywhere and you have to find a way to get them all out of your house. The Christmas tree is down but the rest of the Christmas decorations are still up because I'm just not ready to accept that Christmas is over because I love this time of year so much!

Mike and Michelle are already here and Blake and Lindsey are on their way and we are going to watch a game at BJ's. Tomorrow we will be headed out to Bowie to ring in the New Years. I can't believe 2009 is coming to an end it certainly doesn't seem like a whole year has passed.  It was a wonderful year for Adam and I, we welcomed two new nephews, witnessed two of our friends get married in Michigan, Celebrated our first anniversary of being married, watched Adam's cousin Josh get married, Emily and Blake got engaged, Nate and Pamela got engaged and we get to watch both of them get married next year and so many more memories were made. Thanks to everyone who made 2009 so great for Adam and I and here is to hoping 2010 is even better and even more wonderful memories are made!! Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful New Years Eve!!!! We love you all and thank you for making our life so wonderful!
